Ashley and Chris were recently up visiting the WNC area check out venues for their big day this fall! Making the most of their time they also scheduled their mountain engagement session during their visit and it….was….awesome! Like many of the the engagements and elopements we’ve had lately, we ended up playing hot potato with different dates based on the crazy amount of rain the Asheville area has been getting lately, but thankfully we were able to find a small window where it looked like we could get some dry time! Naturally it was first thing in the morning just before sunrise and as you can imagine, February in the mountains it was a little chilly, but I think the kicker for this one (besides these cuties!) was the wind! If you’ve never visited Bearwallow Mountain it’s about a 20 minute hike from the trailhead up the gravel road and when you reach the top it’s wide open views and beautiful perspectives of the mountains in the distance, especially looking back where you came from! You definitely feel like you’re at the highest spot in the area and as you move your way up to the very top, the wind tends to pick up as it howls through the radio towers above! Thankfully, Ashley and Chris were troopers! The wind and cold couldn’t deter their smiles and one of the great things about low temps, it’s a good motivator to hold each other close for those romantic and intimate shots! So grab your coffee, stay warm, and enjoy following along on Chris and Ashley’s winter engagement!
