Spring Wedding at The Parker Mill : I + W

Spring and Summer have been busy beyond belief for us this year so when we finally found some spare time to sit down and catch up on all things blog, you knew we had to feature one of our amazing couples and their beautiful wedding day at The Parker Mill in Whittier, NC! Meet Iva and William! These cuties first connected with us in January of 2022 for their Spring 2023 (and yes 1 year + is totally normal and definitely recommended if you’re trying to get all of your favorite vendors!). Within a few emails Iva told us she was ready to roll and that is one of the many things we came to love about her! Iva always had a spirit about her that she is one to take action, pursue the things she values, and she was always radiant with positive energy! Even during her beautiful bridal session when most brides probably would’ve flipped and lost their cool, Iva was cool as they come. What do I mean, oh no biggie, just one of her fur babies jumped up and scratched her during the middle of the session to the point where she was bleeding on her dress. Never one hint of stress, or anger, Iva totally rolled with the punches and kept that bright energy the entire session! She ended up rocking her bridal session as well as her and Will’s epic mountain engagement at one of our favorite local spots, Black Balsam Knob! When Will and Iva’s big day finally arrived, we were greeted with the best of what spring time has to offer here in Western North Carolina. As you took in the fresh mountain air, and perfect mountain views that The Parker Mill is known for, you could also feel the amazing breeze rolling through the valleys that were finally back to full green! In other words, spring wedding perfection! You could probably already guess from my intro of Iva in the last paragraph, but to say this wedding day was filled with laughs and so many of ‘the little moments’ would be an understatement. By far one of our favorite moments was one which Iva and Will told us about in the months leading up to their wedding. This would be Iva walking herself down the aisle and William meeting her half way so that they could take this walk together. We included this moment in Iva’s sneak peek and she reached out to tell us how important that moment was to her and how glad she was we captured it how we did. Nothing too miraculous in terms of skill, but but everything in terms of timing and shooting through moments. For a brief second Iva looked at Will and he looked at her. It was a split second. How could something be so subtle and yet, say so much at the same time? How could one moment carry such vulnerability and certainty at the same time? That wouldn’t be our story to tell, but we sure glad we got to help document this brief moment in time for them. I know, I know, I was going down the rabbit hole of love and romance after starting off with fun vibes! After some of the traditional formalities, and absolutely rocking sunset at The Parker Mill’s mountain top, the party finally got started! Will and Iva danced the night away with their closest loved ones and the rest is history! I know we had a blast being a small part of this big day and we hope you all enjoy following along!
