Beautiful views, exquisite rustic charm, and a couple of cuties that got married…we could only be talking about Alicia & Austin’s wedding at the Laurel Ridge Country club in Waynesville!! We first connected with Alicia & Austin back in October of 2016 for their engagement session at Botanical Gardens in Asheville. Alicia was sweet and quiet and Austin was a loving gentleman but definitely a bit of a jokester, but he made Alicia smile so it was totally cool :)
Shortly after these two rocked their engagement session, they asked us if we would be interested in doing their wedding, to which we responded something along the lines of heck yea! Like many of our couples whom we get to work with for their big day, it was amazing getting to work with them for their engagement session too. We love the opportunity to build a rapport beforehand so when the wedding day finally arrives, there are no nerves, no awkwardness, just a perfect flow of how things should be! Alicia & Austin’s wedding day was exactly this! We arrived at the tail end of Alicia getting her hair & make up done and we were instantly greeted by her sweet smile! We still had a little while before Austin and the groomsmen arrived so we were able to take Alicia and her bridesmaids around the country club for some beautiful bridals! Once the gentleman finally arrived we got to spend a little time with them and the laughs picked up right where they left off last time we saw Austin! Their ceremony took place in the great hall of Laurel Ridge and it was full of a few laughter, a few happy tears, and a whole lot of love! Soon after it was on to our favorite part of the day, couples portraits! We had previously discussed with the videographers and their planner waiting until golden hour for couples photos but soon after the ceremony we noticed the sky was giving us one of our favorite lighting situations. Blue skies and thick white clouds! This helps to softly light the couple but at the same time it keeps that vibrant blue in the sky which you don’t always get during golden hour. We thought it would be a great idea to go ahead and do their couples portraits while the light was great and thankfully everybody else agreed as well! We were soon on our way to the top of Laurel Ridge’s property for some beautiful skies and mountain views! Alicia & Austin effortlessly knocked it out of the park just like they did back in October!
The rest of the evening was a perfect mix laughs, and sweet dance moves as DJ Robbie got the party moving!
As their beautiful day came to an end, these lovelies exited their venue with the same level of excitement they both displayed all day! It was very much a testament to the joy & connection they share and we cannot wait to see where the future takes them! Big congrats to Alicia & Austin and thank you as always to the amazing wedding pros who helped to make this day awesome!
