mountain wedding at the parker mill

This past March we were blessed to be a part of Natalie and Carl’s beautiful mountain wedding at The Parker Mill in Whittier, NC! Without a doubt, this became one of our absolute favorites and not just at The Parker Mill but all time. To know these two is to adore them! Natalie and Carl are easily one of the sweetest and down to earth couples we’ve had the pleasure of connecting with over the years and equally just as fun! We knew they were our people when they were willing to adjust their schedules to a sunrise session for their engagement. Not always the most attractive option for those of us that love sleep (admittedly guilty on this end) but for anyone willing to make that commitment, they usually end up being pretty awesome.

This spirit of positivity, and fun definitely carried over into their wedding day! From the get go, it was all hugs and laughs. Natalie and Carl’s wedding was filled with so many sweet moments big and small. By far our favorite was for Natalie and Carl’s first look on the mountain top. As the generic statement is oftentimes used, ‘there’s levels to this thing,’ truer words could not exist for mountain wedding venues in WNC or Asheville. As if the views down low didn’t already take your breath away, Natalie and Carl’s venue also has special mountain top area just for their couples and for small elopements. The views from the top truly are unrivaled in the area and making it ideal for special moments or epic sunsets with views! In Natalie and Carl’s case it was idyllic for their first look. Having the spot all to yourself truly allows a couple to just be fully present in the moment and not have to worry about 24 sets of eyes on them while they are having a private moment. These lovebirds also took advantage of this private time to exchange gifts and read their vows to one another instead of in front of all their family and friends. This option has become more and more popular in the past few years and if you were looking for a sign to do this as well, consider this it. Their gifts were both extra special but, without getting too far into the details of the contents, let’s just say Carl’s reaction was priceless and Natalie’s reaction to his reaction was everything. These are the kind of little moments we live for as wedding photographers!

The rest of their special day was a perfect mix of big and little moments with friends & family culminating to one epic celebration for their reception! As always, big congrats to this amazing couple and we hope you all enjoy following along on their special day!

If you’ve got a few minutes to kill, Tunnel Rush Game is the perfect pick. It’s simple to play but tricky to master. You just dodge obstacles, but somehow it keeps you hooked way longer than you expect.
