Kandice & Dave's Lake Junaluska Wedding

One of our last weddings this fall was also one of our favorites! Not only were we greeted with a beautiful day and the gorgeous fall colors that the Asheville area is known for, but we also got to spend the day with two amazing people who we are blessed enough to call friends! Enter Kandice and Dave! Talk about a chance encounter, they had all but booked another wedding photography company in the area and last minute they decided to attend the Wedding Festival in Asheville to check out the vendors for some remaining things they still needed for their wedding. They came by our booth and next thing you know it was like we were talking too old friends we had known for years! Before you knew it, I was sharing my stories of nostalgia as I reminisced with Dave about how cool my 'groom's' cake was for our wedding (Les Paul Guitar cake!). As we talked and I gave them our information, we were hopeful to connect again!

Soon after we met up for coffee at Starbucks to get to know Kandice and Dave as a couple. All four of us hit it off and as we got to know Kandice & Dave, we were certain that this was a couple we wanted to build a friendship with and one whose wedding we could not wait to be a part of! We could tell from the get go with the way Dave looked at Kandice that we were in for something special.

We soon had an amazing time with their engagement photos and we got to meet their little one Dillon!

After many evenings spent sharing stories, ideas, and laughter, their wedding day had finally arrived! It was set at one of the most beautiful areas near Asheville, Lake Junaluska. Dave has always been a high-energy positive guy since we’ve known him, but when I showed up to capture his getting ready photos, he was full of excitement! With a noticeable pep in his step, I upped my shutter speed just a bit. Back at the venue the ladies were getting ready and it was also a time of excitement, but you could simply feel the heartfelt emotion as the day started to unfold. Once Dave and Kandice were both ready we coordinated to capture their first look! Dave was waiting patiently and peacefully for his beautiful bride’s arrival. Once Kandice was in place, I would have to say Jenny and I were almost as excited as they were. One look at Kandice and Dave melted. There was that same look in his eyes we had seen before, when we first met them. It was easily one of the most touching first looks we have ever been a part of!

Once the short list of family photos was completed, we were off to the ceremony. After a short but sweet ceremony, we were able to take Kandice and Dave aside for a few minutes and highlight their love on this beautiful fall day.

The rest of the night was filled with good company, excitement, a few jokesters, and of course some awesome dance moves!

As the night came to an end, Jenny and I reflected on the amazing day. We were so grateful to have been a part of Kandice and Dave’s Journey. Being brothers and sisters in Christ in addition to loving their personalities, we truly believe we have made two life long friends and can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two!
