Fall Wedding at The Greystone Inn: L + S

Nestled in the serene mountains of Western North Carolina, The Greystone Inn on Lake Toxaway offers a rare blend of natural beauty and timeless charm. Last fall, we had the privilege of documenting Stefanie and Lauren’s wedding at this hidden gem. Their day was filled with warmth, laughter, and unforgettable moments that perfectly captured the spirit of the season as well as their wedding day!


Since 2012, we have explored the mountain regions of Western North Carolina, but it wasn’t until 2021 that we found the Greystone Inn. This venue stands out for its unique combination of mountain views, peaceful waterfront, and old-world luxury that feels inviting rather than formal. The inn’s atmosphere strikes a balance between rustic charm and elegant comfort, making it an ideal setting for couples seeking a relaxed yet refined wedding experience.


One of the standout features of the property is the Rockefeller Suite. This spacious and beautifully appointed room has become a favorite spot for couples to get ready on their wedding day. Stefanie and Lauren chose this suite for their preparations, setting the tone for a day filled with closeness and joy. Stefanie and Lauren decided to break from tradition by getting ready together instead of separately. This choice created a warm, supportive environment where both brides and their bridal parties shared the excitement and nerves of the morning. The large, open space of the Rockefeller Suite allowed everyone to mingle freely, laugh, and relax. This approach gave us a chance to capture genuine moments of connection and anticipation. The atmosphere was filled with the kind of energy that only comes from being surrounded by your closest loved ones. The suite’s charming details, from its classic furnishings to the soft light filtering through the great windows, added to the vibe of the day!


The venue’s layout allowed guests to feel close to the couple, enhancing the sense of community and shared joy. The natural surroundings contributed to a calm yet uplifting mood and the unique layout made it feel like you were just as much in the mix if you were sitting in the last row as if you were sitting in the front. After the ceremony, their evening was a mix of candid moments, heartfelt speeches, and of course, some sweet dance moves. The couple’s happiness was contagious and as the sun set, the celebration continued under an outdoor tent where the Emerald Empire Band took the stage. Their lively music energized the crowd, turning the dance floor into one of the most memorable parts of the day. The band’s energy was met with the same energy from the guests, creating a vibrant atmosphere that lasted late into the night! The combination of great music, a beautiful venue, and a joyful crowd made this reception stand out. It was an epic day of celebration, and one that we hope you enjoy!
