Rarely do we have any regrets when it comes to our time spent with the couples we serve. Well we would be lying if we said that we felt the same when it came Lauren and Josh and that’s because we seriously wish we could’ve spent more time with these two! Lauren had an amazing bridal session and the wedding day itself was action packed from beginning to end, so it seemingly flew by!
Their wedding venue was The Crossing at Hollar Mill in Hickory, NC! If you’re not familiar with it, it very much encompasses that modern industrial feel with the exposed bricks, wood frame ceilings and floors, and it has natural light for days with windows taking up most of the wall space! We’ve shot at a few venues similar to this but the layout at The Crossing in relation to it’s surroundings and the way the light comes in is truly unique! The first time we visited was for Lauren’s bridal session and she absolutely rocked it!
Having already visited The Crossing for Lauren’s bridal we knew what to expect going in to her and Josh’s wedding day but we were still in awe of the beautiful layout put in place by the team at The Crossing and Tara B’s Eventful Planning. The ladies arrived a little bit before the fellas but the vibe was absolutely the same! Love, support, and laughs all the way around! Their first look was full of emotion! Happy tears and big laughs for sure! What made it even better is that Lauren and Josh just fell right into place in front of the camera! They were absolute naturals and you didn’t have to have a professional camera to see the joy that these to share!
Friends and family began to pour in shortly after and it just added to the feeling of the day! Lauren and Josh said their vows and sealed their love with a kiss! After saying their I dos, the celebration began to ramp up! Guests partook in a warm live music rooftop cocktail hour while the bridal party and newlyweds had a little fun across the way at one of the industrial complexes! From their it was dancing, dancing, and yep! More dancing but those dance moves though!? We did manage to sneak out for some golden hour portraits with Lauren & Josh and we are so glad we did because these two picked up right where they left off with their first look! (insert heavenly awwws!)
As their wedding came to an end, there was literally no slowing down! We’re convinced that if the DJ would've kept playing music, everyone would’ve kept tearing it up on the dance floor! Everyone carried that same intensity and passion to the sparkler exit and sent Lauren & Josh off like stars!
As we packed up all of gear that night, Lauren popped back in the front door to grab a few more things but not before giving us two big hugs and thanking us for everything. As we stated at the beginning, the only thing we wish we could’ve done different was spend more time with Lauren and Josh, but even though our time with them was limited, it was nice to know that we could still have that kind of meaningful impact for our couples, even beyond captured memories.
