Last September we were a part of one of the cutest engagement sessions at The UNC Asheville Botanical Gardens. C’mon you remember from social media, the burgundy dress, the blue blazer, and all the love! Well if you don’t remember, their names are Ashley and Caleb and they pretty much rock!
In March these two beautiful souls tied the knot at Chestnut Ridge! Even though we had already been to their venue a bunch in the past 2 years, there were some fun happenings and unique elements on their wedding day that made it super fun from a photography stand point, but also because these things were totally Ashley & Caleb! If you didn’t know, Chestnut Ridge allows it’s couples the opportunity to go skeet shooting (or clay pigeons as some folks call them) the morning of their wedding and that’s just what Caleb and his family & friends did. When we heard about this, it was something fun and different we wanted to be a part of because as it’s not the typical thing we get to shoot on a wedding day. Being visual storytellers at heart, we knew this would be fun to document and add to their album. On top of getting to be a part of the action, it also allowed the opportunity to go around to the backside of the property and get a different perspective of the venue from all the way across the valley. One of our other favorite parts of their wedding day was a handsome little fella named Russell. He wasn’t very big or loud but believe me, when he entered the room, he stole the show. We’re talking about their fur baby! We have two doxies at home ourself so when we found out they were bringing Russell to their wedding, I’d be lying if I said we weren’t just as excited to meet him (lol . . . too cute!). They were able to integrate Russell into a few parts of their day including the ceremony, and even some of the details! If only ours behaved this well, but I digress. Their big day started with a bang (pun intended) and ended just same way as they had a BEAUTIFUL firework exit that I’m sure all those in attendance won’t soon forget!
