Crest Center Wedding Asheville: J + M

What does one of our favorite Asheville wedding venues and one of our favorite couples have to do with one another? Josh and Missy’s big day at The Crest Center and Pavilion of course! Like many of the awesome couples we get to work with throughout the year, Josh and Missy were from out of town (Chicago to be exact) and we never had the opportunity to meet face to face before their wedding and it didn’t matter. I vividly remember knocking on Josh’s hotel door where he was getting ready and before I knew it, the door swung open and he was pulling in me in for a big hug! Josh has that kind of intense positive mindset and energy that you can’t help but love and he instantly made me feel like one of the crew! It didn’t take long and you could pick up on the the kind of love he had for life and those special people in his life.

Across downtown at Aloft hotel, Missy was getting ready with her ladies! Jenny remembered walking in and that same energy being present! It could be felt through Missy’s excitement and laughter (there were a lot of laughs with these ladies!). We talked about this after their wedding and found it so cool that we both had the same experience! To us it spoke volumes about their connection and how much they complimented each other. Together their chemistry was dynamite and every time we had the opportunity to put them both in front of our lenses their love shined bright!

For their reception, our good friend DJ Lucas London brought the party! In fact, both of our favorite memories from their wedding day took place during the reception on the dance floor. The energy was steadily ramping up all night and Missy stealing the show with her solo dance during Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean was hard to beat! Another one of our favorite moments was at the end of the night when Lucas cleared the room so these two could share one last special dance with no one else present. As I write this, I realize not everyone knows what a last dance is, let alone will they ever be in a position to witness one. Being a wedding photographer, it’s one of those special privileges and moments we get to experience every now and then and easily one of our favorites. For us it was the point in time where their connection, chemistry, and the gravity of the moment all hit at once. For us, moments like this that put everything into perspective are hard to beat.

This was another one of those amazing days where we showed up as relative strangers and left as friends! We simply can’t help but love these two and we couldn’t be any more stoked to see what the future has in store for Josh and Missy! Congrats you guys!

Special thanks to all of the amazing wedding vendors!
