One of our first weddings this year was also one of the most special! This is all thanks to Lauren and Ryan! After their engagement session at The Biltmore late last year, we had an instant connection and were blessed with making two new friends in the process! I think one of the things we loved about Lauren was apparent the first time we met in person and that was how tough and determined she was. As her and Ryan hopped off the shuttle to head our way we noticed she was wearing a knee brace. When we asked her about it, she told us she recently tore a ligament in her knee! We were like “OMG!” are you sure you’re okay and not only was she a trooper but her and Ryan rocked their engagement session. You literally would’ve never known anything was wrong with her.
With the exception of a few happy tears, their wedding day was much the same! I think one of the most touching and obvious things for us was Ryan and Lauren’s connection with their families. From the moment we walked in, moms, dads, and other family members were doing everything they could to make sure Ryan and Lauren had an amazing wedding day. The beginning of the day flew by and before you knew it, they were off to their ceremony at Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Asheville, NC. Like many weddings our favorite part of their special day was their first look. These two were giddy with excitement! Thankfully the weather was playing nice too (as I write this during a week where it seems like it’s been raining for 10 days straight but I digress lol). The cloud cover made for perfectly soft light and we had a little fun in the courtyard before they said I do! Due to the strict rules at Trinity, we weren’t able to get many shots of the ceremony, but man I wish we could have, it is such a beautiful church!
After their ceremony, Ryan and Lauren rode off in style to one of our absolute favorite Asheville wedding venues for their reception, Homewood! By this time the January cold started to kick and Homewood’s cozy interior could not have been more welcoming! That night, many laughs were shared with guests as they all danced the night away! We couldn't think of a better way to start the year and or two cooler people to share it with! Big congrats to Lauren and Ryan!
Special thank you to all of the amazing vendors who helped to make this day awesome!
